Normalised Site Insertion Loss
Measurement Description
There are current developments in the CISPR standardization committees that semi anechoic chambers and open area test sites need to be validated in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 30 MHz in order to use them for magnetic field emission testing. The new validation procedures are described in the draft document CIS/A/1323/CDV of CISPR 16-1-4, and they are called the Normalised Site Insertion Loss (NSIL), and Reference Site Method (RSM) respectively.
For these validations, magnetic field antennas (Loop) in all three orthogonal arrangements HX (Coaxial), HY (Coplanar - vertical polarization) and HZ (Coplanar - horizontal polarization) are used. A set of transmission loss measurements is performed at a test distances of 3 m, 5 m or 10 m in a fixed height of 1.3 m above ground plane. Similar to the classical NSA validation, the volumetric test method is applied.
The use of our calibrated active transmit/receive antennas (Precision Loop Antenna PLA) with integrated amplifier and a network analyser is included. No automatic antenna mast is required, as our PLA antennas system is easy to setup and align, thanks to its integrated tripod and laser system.
