Reverberation Chamber Validation

Measurement Description

Reverberation Chamber Validation is performed in accordance with:

  • ISO 11452-11
  • IEC61000-4-21
  • MIL-STD-461F/G
  • RTCA DO-160G
  • DEF STAN 59-411

The validation can be performed from 80 MHz up to 40 GHz according to mode-tuned or mode-stirred procedure.

The mode-tuned validation procedure is performed with discrete stepped rotation of the tuner and the mode-stirred procedure with continuous uniform rotation. A CW signal emitted by an antenna is measured simultaneously with a field probe and an antenna at specific positions within a cuboid test volume while the position of the tuner is changed.

Depending on the standard, eight or nine probe positions are measured. After every position in the empty chamber is measured, the test volume is loaded with absorbers and the positions are measured again. Afterwards, a variety of standard-specific results are calculated. The measurement can be conducted either with customer equipment or with equipment from Seibersdorf Labor GmbH.
