Calibration of EMC Test Antennas

News in calibration procedures 2009

Some standards changed and so Seibersdorf Labor GmbH had to adopt its procedures for the calibration of antennas. The most frequently performed procedures: ANSI C63.5 and SAE-ARP 958 are involved. In the FAQ document you get an overview of the recommended calibration procedures for the most common radiated emission test standards. You are very welcome to consult Seibersdorf Laboratories calibration experts when you can’t find answers in the FAQ section. 

We calibrate following types of antennas:

  • Biconical antennas
  • Logperiodic antennas
  • Biconical logperiodic antennas
  • Horn antennas
  • Mil-Std Antennas (Monopole, Loop, Spiral)
  • Dipole antennas (± 0,3 dB uncertainty!)

Features

  • Determination of the antenna factor as function of height above groundplane and polarisation
  • Determination of free-space antenna factor or gain

  • Measurement of the sum of antenna factors for the specific test setup of NSA measurement
  • Site Reference Measurements for anechoic chamber validation

Measurement Uncertainties (95%, k=2)

  • ± 1 dB, 20 Hz - 20 GHz, general
  • ± 0,3 dB, 25 MHz - 1 GHz, omnidirectional antenna
  • ± 0,5 dB, 25 MHz - 1 GHz, directive antennas *)

How to proceed for calibration?

Send us or our representative the specification of your antenna by filling in the calibration request form and you will get a quotation. For information about the time schedule you have to send us an e-mail or call our antenna specialist Mr. Daniel Moser or Mr. Patrick Preiner.

Calibration contracts

For regular routine calibration of antennas, field probes and other RF test equipment we offer calibration contracts with many advantages.
